द्रौपदी-शैब्यसंवादः — Draupadī’s Identification and Counsel on Hospitality
भ्रातरश्वैव मे सर्वे यान्त्वद्य स्वपुरं प्रति
bhrātaraś caiva me sarve yāntv adya svapuraṃ prati
Dijo Duryodhana: «Que todos mis hermanos, en verdad, partan hoy de regreso hacia nuestra propia ciudad».
दुर्योधन उवाच
The verse highlights the exercise of authority and the pull of kinship loyalty: a leader issues a clear directive to preserve or regroup his own side. Ethically, it can be read as emphasizing responsibility for one’s dependents, while also hinting at the self-interested, faction-centered decision-making that often drives conflict in the epic.
Duryodhana speaks and orders that all his brothers should depart and head back toward their own city. The line functions as a practical instruction—an immediate decision to return home rather than remain in the current setting.
