Duryodhana’s Shame and Consideration of Prāyopaveśa
शासने<5धिष्तिता: सर्वे कि कुर्म इति वादिन: । शत्रुवीरोंका संहार करनेवाले महाराज! इसी प्रकार सब राजा अपनेको किंकर बताते हुए आपकी आज्ञाके अधीन रहते हैं
śāsane 'dhiṣṭhitāḥ sarve kiṃ kurma iti vādinaḥ |
Vaiśampāyana dijo: «Todos permanecen sometidos a tu mandato, preguntando una y otra vez: “¿Qué hemos de hacer?”. Oh rey que aniquila a los héroes enemigos, así todos los soberanos, declarándose tus servidores, habitan bajo tu autoridad.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights the ideal of political discipline: rulers and subordinates should act within a clear chain of command, ready to serve the common purpose and uphold order, especially in times of conflict.
Vaiśampāyana describes how all the kings remain under the addressed king’s authority, presenting themselves as his servants and awaiting his instructions—emphasizing his supremacy and the readiness of allies to act.
