ते तं घनैरिवादित्यं दृष्टवा सम्परिवारितम्
te taṃ ghanair ivādityaṃ dṛṣṭvā samparivāritam
Mārkaṇḍeya dijo: Al verlo completamente cercado—como el sol velado por densas nubes—comprendieron que su fulgor y su libertad de acción estaban siendo obstruidos por la fuerza que lo rodeaba.
मार्कण्डेय उवाच
The verse uses the sun obscured by clouds to suggest that true brilliance or virtue may be temporarily hidden by adverse conditions; one should not mistake temporary concealment for permanent defeat, and should respond with patience and clear judgment.
Mārkaṇḍeya describes a scene where a particular figure is seen fully encircled, and he conveys this visually through the comparison to the sun surrounded by thick clouds.
