वध्यमानं बल दृष्टवा बहुशस्तै: पुरंदर: । स सैन्यनायकार्थाय चिन्तामाप भृशं तदा,जब इन्द्रने देखा कि दानव बार-बार देवताओंकी सेनाका वध कर रहे हैं, तब उन्हें एक सुयोग्य सेनापतिकी आवश्यकता हुई। इसके लिये वे बहुत चिन्तित हुए

Transliteration

vadhyamānaṃ balaṃ dṛṣṭvā bahuśastaiḥ purandaraḥ | sa sainyanāyakārthāya cintām āpa bhṛśaṃ tadā ||

Translation

Al ver que sus fuerzas eran abatidas una y otra vez por múltiples armas, Purandara (Indra) quedó hondamente turbado. Entonces se sumió en intensa reflexión, comprendiendo la urgente necesidad de un comandante capaz que guiara al ejército.
