Adhyāya 22: Śālva’s Weapon-Shower, Dāruka’s Wounding, and the Māyā-Report of Vasudeva’s Father
ततोऊहं पर्वतचित: सहय: सहसारथि: । अप्रख्यातिमियां राजन सर्वतः पर्वतैश्चित:,राजन! मेरे चारों ओर शिलाखण्ड जमा हो गये थे। मैं घोड़ों और सारथिसहित प्रस्तरखण्डोंसे चुना-सा गया था, जिससे दिखायी नहीं देता था
tato ’haṃ parvatacitaḥ sahayaḥ sahasārathiḥ | aprakhyātim iyāṃ rājan sarvataḥ parvataiś citaḥ ||
Luego, oh rey, quedé cubierto por montañas de roca, junto con mis caballos y mi auriga. Rodeado por todos lados de peñascos amontonados, me volví irreconocible y ya no podía ser visto.
वायुदेव उवाच
Even great strength can be rendered unseen by overwhelming circumstances; the ethical emphasis is on steadfastness and the capacity to endure and recover without abandoning right purpose.
Vāyudeva tells the king that he, along with his horses and charioteer, was buried/covered on all sides by piled rocks, becoming unrecognizable and effectively invisible.
