स्कन्दोपाख्यानम् — उत्पातशान्तिः, स्वाहारूपविचारः, कौमारमङ्गलक्रियाः

एतेषु यस्तु वर्तेत सम्यगेव द्विजोत्तम । भवेयुरग्नयस्तस्य परिचीणर्णास्तु नित्यश: । गार्हस्थ्ये वर्तमानस्य एव धर्म: सनातन:,द्विजश्रेष्ठस जो इन सबके प्रति उत्तम बर्ताव करेगा, उस गृहस्थ-धर्मका पालन करनेवालेके द्वारा सदा सब अग्नियोंकी सेवा सम्पन्न होती रहेगी। यही सनातन धर्म है

Transliteration

eteṣu yastu varteta samyageva dvijottama | bhaveyur agnayastasya paricīrṇāstu nityaśaḥ | gārhasthye vartamānasya eva dharmaḥ sanātanaḥ ||

Translation

Oh el mejor de los nacidos dos veces: quien, viviendo la vida del cabeza de familia, se conduce rectamente en estos deberes y vínculos, es como si mantuviera siempre atendidos y debidamente servidos todos los fuegos sagrados. Éste es, en verdad, el dharma eterno del hogar.
