दद्यां वित्तं द्विजाग्रयेभ्य: शत्रूणां चापि दुर्जय: । सख्यं च विष्णुना मे स्याद् भूतेष्वद्रोह एव च,“देवताओं! मैं श्रेष्ठ ब्राह्मणोंको धन दान करूँ, शत्रुओंके लिये दुर्जय बना रहूँ, भगवान् विष्णुके साथ सख्य भावसे मेरा प्रेम हो और किसी भी प्राणीके प्रति मेरे मनमें द्रोह न रह जाय
dadyāṁ vittaṁ dvijāgrebhyaḥ śatrūṇāṁ cāpi durjayaḥ | sakhyaṁ ca viṣṇunā me syād bhūteṣv adroha eva ca ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Que yo entregue riquezas en caridad a los más eminentes entre los nacidos dos veces; que permanezca inconquistable para mis enemigos; que tenga amistad y amorosa intimidad con el Señor Viṣṇu; y que en mí no haya sino ausencia de malicia hacia todos los seres vivientes».
