ददाह भरतश्रेष्ठ सर्वलोकभवाय वै | सो<स्त्रेण दग्ध्वा राजर्षि: कुवलाश्वञो महासुरम्
dadāha bharataśreṣṭha sarvalokabhavāya vai | so 'streṇa dagdhvā rājarṣiḥ kuvalāśvo mahāsuram ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Oh el mejor de los Bharatas, por el bienestar de todos los mundos, el sabio rey Kuvalāśva abrasó a aquel gran Asura; al chamuscarlo con su arma, apartó la amenaza que ponía en peligro el bien común».
