योगी योगेन वह्लिंच शमयामास वारिणा | महाराज! उस समय धुन्धुके शरीरसे बहुत-सा जल प्रवाहित होने लगा, किंतु राजा कुवलाश्वने योगी होनेके कारण योगबलसे उस जलमय तेजको पी लिया और जल प्रकट करके धुन्धुकी मुखाग्निको बुझा दिया
yogī yogena vahliṃ ca śamayāmāsa vāriṇā | mahārāja! tadā dhundhuke śarīrāt bahu jalaṃ pravahitum ārabdhavat, kintu rājā kuvalāśvaḥ yogī bhūtvā yogabalena taṃ jalamayaṃ tejaḥ pītvā jalaṃ prakaṭya dhundhuke mukhāgniṃ śamayāmāsa |
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Por el poder del yoga, el yogui apagó el fuego con agua. Oh gran rey, entonces comenzó a brotar del cuerpo de Dhundhu un gran torrente; pero el rey Kuvalāśva, maestro del yoga, bebió aquella energía acuosa mediante su fuerza yóguica y luego hizo aparecer agua para extinguir el fuego abrasador que Dhundhu lanzaba por la boca. Así, el poder interior disciplinado no se usó para ostentación, sino para contener la fuerza destructora y proteger al mundo del daño.»
