मार्कण्डेय उदाच वृत्ते देवासुरे राजन् संग्रामे लोमहर्षणे । त्रयाणामपि लोकानामिन्द्रो लोकाधिपो5भवत्,मार्कण्डेयजी बोले--राजन्! जब रोंगटे खड़े कर देनेवाला देवासुर-संग्राम समाप्त हो गया, उस समय लोकपाल इन्द्र तीनों लोकोंके अधिपति बना दिये गये
Mārkaṇḍeya uvāca: vṛtte devāsure rājan saṅgrāme lomaharṣaṇe | trayāṇām api lokānām indro lokādhipo 'bhavat ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Oh rey, cuando hubo terminado la guerra estremecedora entre los dioses y los asuras, Indra fue establecido como soberano de los tres mundos.»
