स श्र॒ुत्वाचिन्तयन्नेह मनुष्यगतिं पश्यामि कस्य खल्वयं गीतशब्द इति,“उसे सुनकर राजा सोचने लगे कि “यहाँ मनुष्योंकी गति तो नहीं दिखायी देती। फिर यह किसके गीतका शब्द सुनायी देता है”
sa śrutvā cintayann iha manuṣyagatiṁ paśyāmi kasya khalv ayaṁ gītaśabda iti
Al oírlo, el rey pensó: «Aquí no veo rastro alguno de presencia humana. Entonces, ¿de quién es este canto que se escucha?»
