Kuvalāśva’s Lineage and Uttaṅka’s Petition concerning Dhundhu (धुन्धु-प्रसङ्गः)
वामदेव उवाच त्वया त्रातं राजकुलं शुभेक्षणे वरं वृणीष्वाप्रतिमं ददानि ते । प्रशाधीमं स्वजनं राजपुत्रि इक्ष्वाकुराज्यं सुमहच्चाप्यनिन्दे,वामदेवने कहा--शुभ दृष्टिवाली अनिन्द्य राजकुमारी! तुमने इस राजकुलको ब्राह्मणके कोपसे बचा लिया। इसके लिये कोई अनुपम वर माँगो। मैं तुम्हें अवश्य दूँगा। तुम इन स्वजनोंके हृदय और विशाल इक्ष्वाकु-राज्यपर शासन करो
vāmadeva uvāca | tvayā trātaṃ rājakulaṃ śubhekṣaṇe varaṃ vṛṇīṣvāpratimaṃ dadāni te | praśādhīmaṃ svajanaṃ rājaputri ikṣvākurājyaṃ sumahac cāpy aninde ||
Vāmadeva dijo: «Oh princesa de hermosa mirada, irreprochable, has salvado a esta casa real de la ira de un brāhmaṇa. Por ello, elige un don incomparable; sin falta te lo concederé. Gobierna a los tuyos, oh princesa, y también el vasto reino de los Ikṣvākus».
