न लप्स्यन्ते निवासं च निरस्ता: पथि शेरते । युगान्तकाल आनेपर सब ओर आग भी जल उठेगी। उस समय पथिकोंको माँगनेपर कहीं अन्न, जल या ठहरनेके लिये स्थान नहीं मिलेगा। वे सब ओरसे कोरा जवाब पाकर निराश हो सड़कोंपर ही सो रहेंगे ।। निर्घातवायसा नागा: शकुना: समृगद्धिजा:
na lapsyante nivāsaṃ ca nirastāḥ pathi śerate | nighātavāyasā nāgāḥ śakunāḥ samṛgaddhijāḥ ||
Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Ni siquiera hallarán un lugar donde alojarse; rechazados por todas partes, se tenderán en el camino. En ese tiempo semejante al fin de la era—cuando el fuego parece alzarse por doquier—los viajeros que pidan comida, agua o refugio no recibirán nada sino negativas; y, desalentados, dormirán a la intemperie. Aun la naturaleza se mostrará ominosa: los cuervos graznarán con aspereza, las serpientes estarán agitadas y las aves se mezclarán sin temor con las fieras».
