Sarasvatī–Tārkṣya Saṃvāda: Agnihotra-vidhi, Dāna-phala, and Mokṣa-prasaṅga (सरस्वती–तार्क्ष्यसंवादः)

भवन्त्यल्पायुष: पापा रौद्रकर्मफलोदया: । नाथन्त: सर्वकामानां नास्तिका भिन्नचेतस:,इस प्रकार पापकर्मामें प्रवृत्त होनेवाले पापियोंकी आयु उनके कर्मानुसार बहुत कम हो गयी। उनके पापकर्मोंके भयंकर फल प्रकट होने लगे। वे अपनी सभी अभीष्ट वस्तुओंके लिये दूसरोंके सामने हाथ फैलाकर याचना करने लगे। कितने ही नास्तिक और विचलितचित्त हो गये

bhavanty alpāyuṣaḥ pāpā raudrakarmaphalodayāḥ | nāthantaḥ sarvakāmānāṃ nāstikā bhinnacetasaḥ ||

Dijo Mārkaṇḍeya: «Esos pecadores, entregados a la mala conducta, se volvieron de vida breve conforme a sus actos. Los terribles frutos de sus obras inicuas comenzaron a manifestarse. Por cada objeto deseado, empezaron a buscar amparo en otros, mendigando con las manos extendidas. Muchos se hicieron incrédulos, y muchos quedaron turbados y divididos de mente.»
