Brāhmaṇa-māhātmya: Tārkṣya’s instruction on tapas, satya, and svadharma
Chapter 182
Even when motivated by loyalty, reckless daring (sāhasa) is blameworthy; elders and Brahmins uphold dharma by restraining impulsive action and urging conduct that truly protects the community’s welfare.
Vaiśaṃpāyana narrates that the assembled Brahmins, concerned for the Pāṇḍavas’ good, admonish Bhīma and explicitly forbid him from repeating a rash act, censuring his audacity as harmful despite any good intention.
