Arjuna’s Arrival and Reunion on the Sacred Mountain
The verse foregrounds the ethical value of receiving counsel that is ātmahitam—truly beneficial for one’s deeper good—implying that wise action begins with attentive listening to dharmic instruction.
The narrator Vaiśampāyana reports that a figure described as ‘of incomparable splendor’ has heard a teaching or advice characterized as beneficial to the self; the line functions as a transition into that person’s ensuing response or action.
