महात्मा चारुसर्वाज्ध: कम्बुग्रीवो महाभुज: । रुक्मपृष्ठं धनु: खडगं तूर्णाश्चनापि परामृशत्,उनका हृदय महान् था, सभी अंग मनोहर जान पड़ते थे, ग्रीवा शंखके समान थी और भुजाएँ बड़ी-बड़ी थीं। वे सुवर्णकी पीठवाले धुनष, खड्ग तथा तरकसपर बार-बार हाथ फेरते थे

rukmapṛṣṭhaṃ dhanuḥ khaḍgaṃ tūṇīṃś cānāpi parāmṛśat ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Era un hombre de gran alma, hermoso en cada miembro, de cuello como una concha y de brazos poderosos. Una y otra vez palpó y empuñó su arco de dorso dorado, su espada y sus carcajes: señal visible de su prontitud y determinación cuando el relato se encamina a la acción.
