Kubera’s Fivefold Nīti and Protection of the Pāṇḍavas (वैश्रवणोपदेशः)
अभ्यनन्दत् स राजर्षि: पुत्रवद् भरतर्षभान् । पूजिताश्चावसंस्तत्र सप्तरात्रमरिन्दमा:,उन राजर्षिने भरतकुलभूषण पाण्डवोंका पुत्रके समान अभिनन्दन किया और उनसे सम्मानित होकर वे शत्रुदमन पाण्डव वहाँ सात रात ठहरे रहे
abhyānandat sa rājarṣiḥ putravad bharatarṣabhān | pūjitāś cāvasaṃs tatra saptarātram arindamāḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Aquel rey sabio acogió a los vigorosos vástagos de la estirpe de Bharata como si fueran sus propios hijos. Honrados por él, los Pāṇḍava, subyugadores de enemigos, permanecieron allí siete noches.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse underscores dharma through hospitality and reverence: a spiritually authoritative royal sage treats the virtuous as his own children, and the honoured guests respond by staying peacefully—modeling mutual respect, protection, and affectionate regard for the righteous.
A royal sage warmly receives the Pāṇḍavas, praising and welcoming them with paternal affection. After being duly honoured, the Pāṇḍavas remain at that place for seven nights.
