Bhīma’s Entry into Kubera’s Nalinī and the Taking of Saugandhika Lotuses (सौगन्धिकोत्पल-ग्रहणम्)
शत्रूणां ये प्राणहरा: सुखं येन हनिष्यथ । एवमाभाष्य हनुमांस्तदा पाण्डवनन्दनम्,“महाबली वीर! जब तुम बाण और शक्तिके आघातसे व्याकुल हुई शत्रुओंकी सेनामें घुसकर सिंहनाद करोगे, उस समय मैं अपनी गर्जनासे तुम्हारे उस सिंहनादको और बढ़ा दूँगा। उसके सिवा अर्जुनकी ध्वजापर बैठकर मैं ऐसी भीषण गर्जना करूँगा, जो शत्रुओंके प्राणोंको हरनेवाली होगी, जिससे तुमलोग उन्हें सुगमतासे मार सकोगे।” पाण्डवोंका आनन्द बढ़ानेवाले भीमसेनसे ऐसा कहकर हनुमानजीने उन्हें जानेके लिये मार्ग बता दिया और स्वयं वहीं अन्तर्धान हो गये
śatrūṇāṃ ye prāṇaharāḥ sukhaṃ yena haniṣyatha | evam ābhāṣya hanumāṃs tadā pāṇḍavanandanam ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Esos (bramidos) arrebatarán el aliento vital de los enemigos; gracias a ellos podrás abatirlos con facilidad». Dicho esto, Hanumān se dirigió al deleite de los Pāṇḍava (Bhīma): prometió que cuando Bhīma, sacudido por el impacto de flechas y armas, se precipitara en el ejército enemigo y lanzara un grito de batalla como de león, Hanumān lo acrecentaría con su propio rugido atronador. Y además, sentado sobre el estandarte de Arjuna, soltaría un bramido aterrador que minaría el ánimo y la fuerza vital de los enemigos, facilitando su derrota. Tras alentar así a Bhīma, Hanumān le indicó el camino para partir y desapareció de la vista.
