तेन वीरेण तं हत्वा सगणं राक्षसाधमम् । आनीता स्वपुरं सीता कीर्तिश्वाख्यापिता नृूषु
tena vīreṇa taṃ hatvā sagaṇaṃ rākṣasādhamam | ānītā svapuraṃ sītā kīrtiś cākhyāpitā nṛṣu ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Tras dar muerte a aquel rākṣasa vilísimo junto con sus secuaces, el héroe llevó a Sītā de vuelta a su propia ciudad; y su fama fue proclamada entre los hombres.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse links righteous protection and the removal of predatory harm with the restoration of social order; true fame (kīrti) arises when power is used to defend the vulnerable and re-establish what is right.
A hero kills a particularly wicked Rākṣasa along with his retinue, then brings Sītā back to his own city; afterward, his renown spreads among people.
