Hanūmān’s Embrace, Counsel, and Promise to Amplify Bhīma’s Battle-Roar

“आर्य! आपने मुझपर बड़ी कृपा की है। आपके दर्शनसे मुझे बड़ा सुख मिला है। अब मैं पुन: आपके द्वारा अपना एक और प्रिय कार्य पूर्ण करना चाहता हूँ ।। यत् ते तदा55सीत् प्लवत: सागरं मकरालयम् । रूपमप्रतिमं वीर तदिच्छामि निरीक्षितुम्,“वीरवर! मकरालय समुद्रको लाँघते समय आपने जो अनुपम रूप धारण किया था, उसका दर्शन करनेकी मुझे बड़ी इच्छा हो रही है। उसे देखनेसे मुझे संतोष तो होगा ही, आपकी बातपर श्रद्धा भी हो जायगी।” भीमसेनके ऐसा कहनेपर महातेजस्वी हनुमानजीने हँसकर कहा--
yad te tadāsīt plavataḥ sāgaraṁ makarālayam | rūpam apratimaṁ vīra tad icchāmi nirīkṣitum ||
Bhīmasena dijo: «¡Oh noble señor! Me has mostrado una gran benevolencia; con solo verte he sentido un gozo profundo. Ahora deseo cumplir, por tu mediación, otro propósito que me es querido. Oh héroe, cuando saltaste sobre el océano—morada de los makaras—adoptaste una forma incomparable. Anhelo contemplar esa misma forma. Al verla no solo quedaré satisfecho, sino que también se afirmará mi fe en tus palabras».
