The Birth and Career Account of Māndhātṛ
The verse conveys a consoling assurance: righteous counsel and divine favor can remove fear and suffering, and the promised outcome is not merely a child but a heroic, dharmically significant progeny—“equal to Indra”—suggesting protection, excellence, and auspicious destiny.
Lomaśa, speaking as a revered sage, reassures a woman (implicitly the addressed listener) that she will bear a powerful son comparable to Indra, and that she will not undergo the usual distress associated with carrying the pregnancy.
