Kaṇva’s Counsel on Impermanent Power; Opening of the Mātali–Guṇakeśī Narrative
निर्माता सर्वलोकानामीश्रवर: सर्वकर्मवित् | यस्य नारायणो बन्धुरजुनो दुःसहो युधि
nirmātā sarvalokānām īśvaraḥ sarvakarmavit | yasya nārāyaṇo bandhur arjuno duḥsaho yudhi rājān ||
Rāma dijo: «Oh rey, Arjuna—aunque se muestre en forma humana—es irresistible en batalla, pues Nārāyaṇa, el Señor que crea todos los mundos y conoce todas las acciones, se mantiene como su pariente y aliado.»
राम उवाच
The verse emphasizes that true invincibility is not merely personal prowess but the alignment of a righteous warrior with divine support; Arjuna’s battlefield supremacy is grounded in Nārāyaṇa’s protective alliance and omniscient lordship.
Rāma addresses a king and underscores Arjuna’s formidable nature in war, explaining that Arjuna cannot be easily overcome because Nārāyaṇa—the creator and knower of all actions—stands with him as a close supporter.
