वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse highlights disciplined guardianship and coordinated strength: capable warriors place themselves around the leader’s chariot, showing that valor is most effective when guided by duty, order, and protective responsibility rather than mere aggression.
A group of famed youthful heroes proceeds while encircling Kṛṣṇa’s chariot, acting as an armed escort. The narration emphasizes their reputation, lion-like prowess, and readiness to strike down opponents as the events of the Udyoga Parva move toward open conflict.
