विदुरस्य कृष्णं प्रति शमोपदेशः

य: कल्याणगुणान्‌ ज्ञातीन्‌ मोहाल्लो भाद दिदृक्षते । सो<जितात्माजितक्रोधो न चिरं तिष्ठति श्रियम्‌,“जो कल्याणमय गुणोंसे युक्त अपने कुटुम्बीजनोंको मोह$ और लोभःकी दृष्टिसे देखना चाहता है, वह अपने मन और क्रोधको न जीतनेवाला पुरुष दीर्घकालतक राजलक्ष्मीका उपभोग नहीं कर सकता

yaḥ kalyāṇa-guṇān jñātīn mohāl lobhād didṛkṣate | so 'jitātmājita-krodho na ciraṁ tiṣṭhati śriyam ||

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Quien, por ilusión y codicia, mira a sus propios parientes—dotados de nobles cualidades—como objetos de explotación, siendo incapaz de dominar su mente y su ira, no conserva por mucho tiempo la prosperidad real.
