Kṛṣṇa at Duryodhana’s House: Refusal of Hospitality and Departure to Vidura (कृष्णस्य धार्तराष्ट्रनिवेशनगमनम्)
दुर्योधनेन निकृता वर्षमद्य चतुर्दशम् । दुःखादपि सुखं न: स्याद् यदि पुण्यफलक्षय:
duryodhanena nikṛtā varṣam adya caturdaśam | duḥkhād api sukhaṃ naḥ syād yadi puṇyaphalakṣayaḥ ||
Vaiśaṃpāyana dijo: «Duryodhana nos ha agraviado: nos despojó del reino mediante el engaño. Hoy ha transcurrido ya el decimocuarto año mientras permanecemos en esta mísera condición. Si el goce de la dicha implica necesariamente el agotamiento del mérito acumulado, entonces, habiendo soportado ya el dolor como fruto del pecado, se sigue que después de la pena también nosotros debemos alcanzar la felicidad».
