यत्‌ त्वमेवंगते ब्रूया: पश्चिमे वयसि स्थित: । शास्त्राद्‌ वा सुप्रतर्काद्‌ वा सुस्थिर: स्थविरो हासि

Transliteration

yat tvam evaṃgate brūyāḥ paścime vayasi sthitaḥ | śāstrād vā supratarkād vā susthiraḥ sthaviro hāsi ||

Translation

Vidura dijo: «Puesto que te hallas en la etapa final de la vida, lo que dices en esta situación es, en verdad, acertado—ya se apoye en el śāstra o en un claro razonamiento mundano. Precisamente porque tu juicio es tan firme, eres realmente ‘sthavira’, un anciano en el sentido pleno.»
