न च वित्तेन शक््यो5सौ नोटद्यमेन न गर्हया । अन्यो धनंजयात् कर्तुमेतत् तत्त्वं ब्रवीमि ते
na ca vittena śakyo ’sau notdyamena na garhayā | anyo dhanañjayāt kartum etat tattvaṃ bravīmi te ||
Dijo Vidura: No puede ganársele con riquezas, ni con empeño, ni con censura. Nadie puede separarlo de Dhanañjaya (Arjuna). Esta es la verdad que te digo: el vínculo de Kṛṣṇa con Arjuna no es asunto de trueque, presión o reproche, sino de firme concordancia en el propósito y en el dharma.
विदुर उवाच
True allegiance grounded in dharma cannot be purchased, forced by effort, or broken by slander; Krishna’s commitment to Arjuna is unwavering and not manipulable by political tactics.
Vidura is giving counsel in the Udyoga Parva context of negotiations and strategy before war, warning that attempts to detach Krishna from Arjuna—through gifts, pressure, or disparagement—will fail.
