Omens and Reception During Keśava’s Departure
श्रोतुमिच्छाम गोविन्द सत्यानि च हितानि च । “गोविन्द! माधव! उस सभामें आपके तथा भीष्म आदिके मुखसे जो दिव्य, सत्य एवं हितकर वचन प्रकट होंगे, उन सबको हमलोग सुनना चाहते हैं |। ७० है ।।
śrotum icchāma govinda satyāni ca hitāni ca | āpṛṣṭo 'si mahābāho punar drakṣyāmahe vayam ||
Deseamos oír, oh Govinda, palabras que sean verdaderas y también provechosas. «¡Govinda! ¡Mādhava! En esa asamblea, todos los dichos divinos, veraces y benéficos que broten de tu boca y de la de Bhīṣma y otros, queremos escucharlos. Oh de brazos poderosos, ahora nos retiramos tras pedirte permiso; volveremos a verte. ¡Oh héroe! Que tu viaje esté libre de obstáculos. Cuando entres en la asamblea y te sientes en el trono espléndido, entonces volveremos a contemplarte, tu persona recogida, colmada de fuerza y de resplandor.»
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Speech and counsel should be both satya (true) and hita (beneficial). The verse highlights an ethical standard for public deliberation: truthfulness must be joined with welfare-oriented intent, especially in politically charged situations.
The interlocutors address Krishna respectfully, expressing their desire to hear his forthcoming words in the assembly. They take leave after consulting him, indicating they will meet again when he appears publicly to speak.
