असकृच्चाप्यहं तेन त्वत्कृते पार्थ भेदित: । न मया तद्‌ गृहीतं च पापं तस्य चिकीर्षितम्‌,कुन्तीनन्दन! उसने मुझे भी तुम्हारी ओरसे फोड़नेके लिये अनेक बार चेष्टा की है; परंतु मैंने उसके पापपूर्ण प्रस्तावको कभी स्वीकार नहीं किया है

asakṛc cāpy ahaṃ tena tvatkṛte pārtha bheditaḥ | na mayā tad gṛhītaṃ ca pāpaṃ tasya cikīrṣitam ||

«Oh hijo de Kuntī, una y otra vez intentó, por tu causa, apartarme de vosotros. Pero jamás acepté la propuesta pecaminosa que él tramaba.»
