Udyoga Parva 63: Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s Counsel Reminding Duryodhana of Opponent Strength
धूमायन्ते व्यपेतानि ज्वलन्ति सहितानि च । धृतराष्ट्रोल्मुकानीव ज्ञातयो भरतर्षभ
dhūmāyante vyapetāni jvalanti sahitāni ca | dhṛtarāṣṭrolmukānīva jñātayo bharatarṣabha ||
Vidura dijo: «Cuando los leños encendidos se separan, no arden: sólo humean; cuando se mantienen juntos, se avivan en llama. Del mismo modo, los parientes—como tizones de Dhṛtarāṣṭra—se vuelven débiles cuando la discordia los divide, pero unidos se hacen fuertes y radiantes. Por eso, oh toro entre los Bháratas, no permitas que la casa se quiebre por facciones: la unidad es la fuerza que preserva el linaje y contiene la ruina».
