य॑ श्रुत्वायं मनुष्येन्द्र: सर्वदुःखातिगो भवेत्‌ | लाभालाभौ प्रियद्वेष्यौ यथैनं न जरान्तकौ

Transliteration

yaḥ śrutvāyaṃ manuṣyendraḥ sarvaduḥkhātigo bhavet | lābhālābhau priyadveṣyau yathainaṃ na jarāntakau ||

Translation

Dijo Vaiśampāyana: «Al oír esto, un rey entre los hombres se elevaría más allá de toda aflicción. La ganancia y la pérdida, lo grato y lo ingrato ya no podrían dominarlo—del mismo modo que la vejez y la muerte no vencen a quien así permanece establecido.»
