अनिर्वेद: श्रियो मूलं लाभस्य च शुभस्य च | महान् भवत्यनिर्विण्ण: सुखं चानन्त्यमश्लुते,उद्योगमें लगे रहना--उससे विरक्त न होना धन, लाभ और कल्याणका मूल है। इसलिये उद्योग न छोड़नेवाला मनुष्य महान् हो जाता है और अनन्त सुखका उपभोग करता है
anirvedaḥ śriyo mūlaṃ lābhasya ca śubhasya ca | mahān bhavaty anirviṇṇaḥ sukhaṃ cānantyam aśnute ||
Vidura enseña que la constancia—negarse a caer en el desaliento o a renunciar al esfuerzo legítimo—es la raíz misma de la prosperidad, la ganancia y el bien auspicioso. Quien no pierde el ánimo al emprender el trabajo necesario se engrandece y, al final, goza de una dicha perdurable.
विदुर उवाच
Do not succumb to dejection or renounce rightful effort; sustained, undiscouraged endeavor is presented as the foundation of prosperity, gain, and auspicious outcomes, culminating in enduring happiness.
In Udyoga Parva, Vidura delivers counsel (nīti) in a tense pre-war context, emphasizing practical and ethical discipline; here he urges steadfast effort and freedom from despair as essential virtues for welfare and success.
