वनस्पतेरपक्वानि फलानि प्रचिनोति यः । स नाप्रोति रसं तेभ्यो बीजं चास्य विनश्यति,जो पेड़से कच्चे फलोंको तोड़ता है, वह उन फलोंसे रस तो पाता नहीं, परंतु उस वृक्षके बीजका नाश हो जाता है
vanaspater apakvāni phalāni pracinoti yaḥ | sa nāpnoti rasaṁ tebhyo bījaṁ cāsya vinaśyati ||
Dijo Vidura: «Quien arranca los frutos verdes de un árbol no obtiene de ellos jugo verdadero; antes bien, daña la fuente misma: su semilla queda arruinada. Así también, la acción prematura y codiciosa no trae provecho real y destruye la prosperidad venidera».
