Sañjaya’s Envoy-Speech on Peace
तदैव मे संजय दीव्यतो< भू- न्मति: कुरूणामागत: स्यादभाव: । काव्यां वाचं विदुरो भाषमाणो न विन्दते यद् धार्तराष्ट्रात् प्रशंभाम्
tadaiva me sañjaya dīvyato 'bhūn matiḥ kurūṇām āgataḥ syād abhāvaḥ | kāvyāṃ vācaṃ viduro bhāṣamāṇo na vindate yad dhārtarāṣṭrāt praśaṃbhām ||
Dijo Sañjaya: Aun mientras yo estaba entregado al juego de dados, surgió en mí este pensamiento: que la ruina de los Kurus debía de estar acercándose. Pues Vidura, al pronunciar palabras de sabio consejo según el arte del gobierno, no pudo obtener aprecio alguno del hijo de Dhritarashtra. Cuando se rechaza el buen consejo y la virtud no halla acogida, la destrucción no está lejos.
