अध्याय 24 — संजयस्य शमोपदेशः
Sanjaya’s Counsel Toward Conciliation
न युज्यते कर्म युष्मासु हीन॑ सत्त्वं हि वस्तादृशं भीमसेना: । उद्धासते हाञ्जनबिन्दुवत् त- च्छुश्रे वस्त्रे यद् भवेत् किल्बिषं व:
sañjaya uvāca | na yujyate karma yuṣmāsu hīnaṃ sattvaṃ hi vo tādṛśaṃ bhīmasenāḥ | uddhāsate hāñjanabinduvat tac chukre vastre yad bhavet kilbiṣaṃ vaḥ ||
Sañjaya dijo: «Entre vosotros, oh Bhīmasenas, ningún acto vil puede echar raíces, pues vuestra fuerza interior y noble disposición son de tal índole. Si hubiera en vosotros alguna falta, resaltaría sin remedio—como una mancha oscura de colirio sobre un paño blanco—incapaz de ocultarse».
