Dhṛtarāṣṭra–Saṃjaya Dialogue: Command to Proceed to Upaplavya
na jātu tau cchatrur anyaḥ saheta yeṣāṃ sa syād agraṇīr vṛṣṇisiṃhaḥ | pravepate me hṛdayaṃ bhayena śrutvā kṛṣṇāv ekarathe sametau ||
The verse underscores how righteous leadership and unified purpose amplify power: when divine wisdom (Kṛṣṇa) and heroic capability (Arjuna) act in concert, opposition falters. Ethically, it highlights the Mahābhārata theme that dharma gains force through right guidance, disciplined alliance, and clarity of aim.
In the Udyoga Parva’s war-preparation context, the speaker reports a reaction of dread upon hearing that Kṛṣṇa and Arjuna are together on a single chariot. This signals a formidable coalition supporting the Pāṇḍavas, implying that their impending military action will be extremely difficult for any enemy to withstand.
