Adhyāya 20 — Rājadharma Argument for Paternal Inheritance and Timely Conciliation
अक्षौहिण्यश्व सप्तैव धर्मपुत्रस्य संगता: | युयुत्समाना: कुरुभि: प्रतीक्षन्तेडस्य शासनम्,“धर्मपुत्र युधिष्ठिरके पास सात अक्षौहिणी सेनाएँ भी एकत्र हो गयी हैं, जो कौरवोंके साथ युद्धकी अभिलाषा रखकर उनके आदेशभरकी प्रतीक्षा कर रही हैं
akṣauhiṇyaḥ saptaiva dharmaputrasya saṅgatāḥ | yuyutsamānāḥ kurubhiḥ pratīkṣante 'sya śāsanam ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Siete akṣauhiṇīs completas se han reunido bajo Dharmaputra (Yudhiṣṭhira). Ávidas de trabar batalla con los Kuru, permanecen listas, aguardando tan sólo su mandato.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
Even when forces are eager for conflict, legitimate action must proceed under rightful command; the verse underscores disciplined obedience to dharmic leadership rather than impulsive violence.
The narrator reports that Yudhiṣṭhira has seven akṣauhiṇīs gathered. The troops are ready and willing to fight the Kurus, but they are holding position, awaiting Yudhiṣṭhira’s explicit order.
