दिदेश तान्यनीकानि प्रयाणाय महीपति: । तेषां युधिछ्ठिरो राजा ससैन्यानां महात्मनाम्
dideśa tāny anīkāni prayāṇāya mahīpatiḥ | teṣāṃ yudhiṣṭhiro rājā sa-sainyānāṃ mahātmanām ||
Dijo Vaiśaṃpāyana: El señor de la tierra dio órdenes para que aquellas formaciones de batalla emprendieran la marcha. Entre aquellos guerreros magnánimos con sus ejércitos, el rey Yudhiṣṭhira tomó la delantera—señal de un avance deliberado, sujeto al deber, hacia el conflicto venidero, y no de una precipitada carrera hacia la guerra.
