Bhīṣma’s Dream-Counsel and the Prasvāpa Astra (भीष्मस्वप्नदर्शनम् / प्रस्वापास्त्रोपदेशः)
The verse highlights the Mahābhārata’s ethical emphasis on lineage and earned renown: noble descent is acknowledged, but lasting remembrance is tied to yaśas (reputation) gained through worthy conduct.
Bhīṣma is naming and identifying a figure within a lineage account, describing him as Śāntanu’s son and as Vasureṣa, famed and celebrated—part of a broader contextual narration about Kuru ancestry and notable persons.
