Bhīṣma’s Dream-Counsel and the Prasvāpa Astra (भीष्मस्वप्नदर्शनम् / प्रस्वापास्त्रोपदेशः)
Even in righteous warfare, restraint matters: once a goal is met or destruction becomes excessive, a warrior should heed counsel and withdraw rather than pursue needless slaughter.
Bhishma addresses a younger, powerful warrior affectionately and urges him to stop—saying the damage already inflicted in the clash with Bhishma is sufficient, and instructing him to leave the battlefield.
