Even amid martial tensions, dharma is upheld through humility and disciplined speech: Bhīṣma shows reverence to a venerable warrior-teacher figure and accepts the stated directive with the restrained assent “evam astu.”
Bhīṣma recounts that after Paraśurāma (Rāma), famed as a conqueror of enemy strongholds, spoke to him, Bhīṣma bowed respectfully and verbally agreed, indicating compliance with Paraśurāma’s instruction.
