यच्चापि कत्थसे राम बहुश: परिषत्सु वै । निर्जिता: क्षत्रिया लोके मयैकेनेति तच्छूणु,“राम! आप जो बहुत बार भरी सभाओंमें अपनी प्रशंसाके लिये यह कहा करते हैं कि मैंने अकेले ही संसारके समस्त क्षत्रियोंको जीत लिया था तो उसका उत्तर सुन लीजिये
yaccāpi katthase rāma bahuśaḥ pariṣatsu vai | nirjitāḥ kṣatriyā loke mayaikene iti tac chṛṇu ||
Y tú, Rama, en cuanto a lo que tantas veces alardeas en asambleas concurridas—diciendo: «Yo solo he conquistado a todos los kṣatriyas del mundo»—escucha ahora la respuesta a esa pretensión.
राम उवाच
The verse critiques self-glorifying speech in public forums and insists that claims of greatness must be answered with truth and accountability; ethical stature is shown through restraint and veracity, not repeated boasting.
The speaker addresses Rama directly, referring to Rama’s repeated public claim that he single-handedly defeated all the kṣatriyas of the world, and announces that he will now give a response/refutation to that boast.
