एष चारिषु विक्रान्त: कर्म सत्पुरुषोचितम् | कर्ता विमर्दे सुमहत् त्वदर्थे पुरुषोत्तम:,पुरुषश्रेष्ठ सत्यवान् शत्रुओंपर महान् पराक्रम दिखाते हैं। ये युद्धमें तुम्हारे लिये श्रेष्ठ पुरुषोंके योग्य महान् कर्म करेंगे
eṣa cāriṣu vikrāntaḥ karma satpuruṣocitam | kartā vimarde sumahat tvadarthe puruṣottamaḥ | puruṣaśreṣṭhaḥ satyavān śatrūṇām upari mahān parākramaṃ darśayiṣyati ||
Bhīṣma dijo: «Este hombre es valiente en la formación de batalla y realiza obras dignas de los nobles. En el choque de la guerra llevará a cabo grandes hazañas por tu causa, oh el mejor de los hombres. Como persona eminente y fiel a su palabra, mostrará un poder formidable sobre los enemigos.»
