Agni-hymn, discovery of Indra, and the Nahuṣa threat
कृत्वा तुभ्यं नमो विप्रा: स्वकर्मविजितां गतिम् । गच्छन्ति सह पत्नीभि: सुतैरपि च शाश्वतीम्
kṛtvā tubhyaṃ namo viprāḥ svakarmavijitāṃ gatiṃ | gacchanti saha patnībhiḥ sutair api ca śāśvatīm ||
Tras ofrecerte reverente homenaje, los brāhmaṇas—por el mérito ganado al cumplir sus propios deberes prescritos—alcanzan un estado perdurable de bienaventuranza, y marchan hacia él junto con sus esposas e incluso con sus hijos.
शल्य उवाच
Reverence toward the worthy (here, the addressed person) combined with steadfast performance of one’s own dharma (svakarma) yields lasting spiritual attainment; ethical life and proper conduct are presented as the true means to enduring welfare.
Śalya states that brāhmaṇas, after paying homage to the person being addressed, proceed to an enduring blessed destination gained through their own meritorious duties—so complete that they are said to go together with their families.
