सकीलकवचा: सर्वे वासीवृक्षादनान्विता: । व्याप्रचर्मपरीवारा द्वीपिचर्मावृताश्च ते

sa-kīlaka-vacāḥ sarve vāsī-vṛkṣa-danānvitāḥ |
vyāghra-carma-parīvārā dvīpi-carmāvṛtāś ca te ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Todos ellos iban provistos de herrajes y sujeciones protectoras, con hachas y otros útiles para cortar madera, y con herramientas diversas. Sus carros y pertrechos estaban rodeados de cubiertas de piel de tigre y también envueltos en pieles de leopardo: señales de plena disposición marcial y de la sombría determinación que precede a la guerra.
