Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
आपूृष्ठतापाज्ज प्त्वा स परिवृत्य यतव्रत: । दृष्टवा कुन्तीमुपातिषछ्ठदभिवाद्य कृताञ्जलि:
āpṛṣṭhatāpāj jap tvā sa parivṛtya yatavrataḥ | dṛṣṭvā kuntīm upātiṣṭhad abhivādya kṛtāñjaliḥ ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Tras completar su japa hasta que el calor del Sol dejó de caer sobre su espalda (esto es, hasta que el Sol avanzó en su curso), Karṇa —firme en la disciplina de su voto— se volvió. Al ver a Kuntī ante él, la saludó con las palmas juntas y permaneció cerca de ella con respeto.
