Kuntī–Karṇa Saṃvāda: Lineage Disclosure and Appeal to Fraternal Dharma
चिन्तयन्ती बहुविधं हृदयेन विदूयता । बलाबलं च मन्त्राणां ब्राह्मणस्य च वाग्वलम्
cintayantī bahuvidhaṁ hṛdayena vidūyatā | balābalaṁ ca mantrāṇāṁ brāhmaṇasya ca vāgvalam, doṣaṁ pariharanti ca pituḥ snāritraya-rakṣiṇī | kathaṁ nu sukṛtaṁ me syān nāparādhavatī katham ||
Dijo Vaiśampāyana: Con el corazón ardiendo de aflicción, ella meditó de muchas maneras—sopesando la fuerza y la flaqueza de los mantras, y el poder imperioso de la palabra de un brāhmaṇa. Procurando apartar toda posible falta y preservar su buena conducta ante los ojos de su padre, pensó: «¿Cómo he de ganar mérito, y cómo he de no volverme digna de reproche?»
