Udyoga Parva, Chapter 140
Krishna’s appraisal of Pandava advantage and war portents
Power and sovereignty are portrayed as resting on rightful support: when dharmic claim (Yudhishthira’s authority) is reinforced by capable allies and moral legitimacy, political control becomes inevitable. The verse frames kingship as a convergence of justice, strength, and loyal companionship.
Karna addresses Krishna (Madhava/Janardana), acknowledging the formidable coalition supporting the Pandavas—especially Bhima, the twins, and Draupadi’s sons—and concludes that such backing ensures Yudhishthira will hold the earth and even the Kuru dominion.
