Nahuṣa Abhiṣeka and the Crisis of Restraint (नहुषाभिषेकः—दमभ्रंशः)

तेज आदास्यसे पश्चन्‌ बलवांश्व भविष्यसि । धर्म पुरस्कृत्य सदा सर्वलोकाधिपो भव,“देवता, दानव, यक्ष, ऋषि, राक्षस, पितर, गन्धर्व और भूत--जो भी आपके नेत्रोंके सामने आ जायूँगे, उन्हें देखते ही आप उनका तेज हर लेंगे और बलवान हो जायूँगे। अतः सदा धर्मको सामने रखते हुए आप सम्पूर्ण लोकोंके अधिपति होइये

teja ādāsyase paścān balavāṁś ca bhaviṣyasi | dharmaṁ puraskṛtya sadā sarvalokādhipo bhava ||

Śalya dijo: «Después arrebatarás el resplandor de los demás y te volverás poderoso. Manteniendo siempre al dharma en primer lugar, conviértete en el soberano supremo de todos los mundos.» La afirmación presenta el poder no como mera conquista, sino como una autoridad que debe estar continuamente subordinada a la rectitud.
